Progressive Marketer
accepts bylined contributions from outside writers
for our publication. If you are interested in contributing
on a one-time or regular basis, here are some general
guidelines:
• Articles should be original to the author.
• Do not submit articles about businesses or
companies in which you have a vested interest, unless
you disclose said interest to the readers.
• Writing style should fit the tone of our
publication. Also, articles should utilize third-person
or narrative style, not first person (except in very
rare cases).
• Topics should be relevant for our target
audience. Progressive Marketer’s target readers
are corporate marketing officers, marketing directors,
brand managers, business owners, and CEOs.
• The desired length for 'How-To' and ‘Top
Ten’ articles is 1,000-1,200 words. Feature
articles may be up 3,000 words if subject matter lends
itself to in-depth analysis.
• Feature articles should offer fresh insight
or a new way to think about an age-old marketing challenge.
'How To' articles should offer readers clear advice
or take-aways about a specific issue or approach.
• Verify and re-verify everything in your article.
As a contributor to our publication, you are responsible
for the accuracy of all information provided.
• Properly document and notate sources (either
in the article or as a footnote) when facts and figures
are cited.
Other Important Info
• Copyright is retained by the author. Progressive
Marketer may, however, reprint your piece, with full
attribution, in companion publications.
• Be sure to include a byline and a brief bio
(no more than 25 words with your article) We do not
publish photos of guest contributors.
• We do not pay most guest contributors for
occasional articles.
• Progressive Marketer reserves the right
to edit any submission for content, grammatical or
spelling errors, or space constraints. However, since
we understand that you take proprietorship in your
contributions, our editor will consult with you prior
to publication if changes are needed.
To Submit
• Custom pieces should be submitted to
the editor at least one week before the publishing
date and the author should be available by telephone
for editor questions/review the week prior to publication
• Send article to editor@progressivemarketer.com
in Word format – no pdf files, please. Include
relevant links in parentheses, next to the word/s
to be linked. Do not embed links in the document.
Due to the volume of submissions received, only those
submissions which are being considered for publication
will receive a reply.
